How I Can Help You

Everything that happens to us during the day is stored in a specific part of our brain. We can think of this as our stress bucket. Somebody cuts you up in traffic, you have an argument with your partner or a friend. One of the kids has a tantrum. All of these things (and many many more) end up in our stress buckets. At night we empty our stress buckets during REM (rapid eye movement) sleep. We remove the emotional charge from the day’s events. We awaken the next day with an empty stress bucket. So far, so good.

However our REM sleep is restricted so sometimes we fail to fully empty our stress buckets. We start the day with a partially full bucket. We have less ability to cope with the busy day head. More and more things get poured into our stress buckets – and they can overflow. This manifests as stress, anxiety, depression, worry, fears and phobias, and OCD.

I use solution focused hypnosis to enable you to overcome stress, anxiety, and depression and help you create new, positive, and very effective changes in your life. You will feel more relaxed, more confident, more content, and in control of your life.

What I Offer, How It Works, What It Costs

I currently offer the following:

An in person or Zoom consultation works as follows:

  • The first session is free and will explain how our brains work. Plus a guided relaxation to start the process of feeling better.
  • The second and subsequent sessions last for 60 mins and cost £80 per session.
  • During a session we address specific issues in a relaxed and positive manner.
  • We then groove the changes in using a guided relaxation.
  • The guided relaxation is also used on a daily basis.

  • Our brains change by repetition – much like an athlete training for a race we become ‘fitter’ the more often we use the daily relaxation.
  • The relaxation moves us into an alpha brain state – this is great for relaxing and reducing stress/anxiety.
  • The hypnosis I offer is actually guided self-hypnosis – you decide to be hypnotised and how deeply. You are in control.
  • Solution focused hypnosis is based on over 34,000 hours of clinical therapy.
  • The root cause of most issues is an overflowing stress bucket – so the whole purpose is to empty out our stress buckets, and decide on new and more positive behaviours.

Who Am I?

I spent over 20 years in the corporate world. I ran a busy IT department. I used to commute 90 minutes to work each day, jump on the train, grab a coffee, have back-to-back meetings most days, receive 100+ emails, leave the office after 6pm, get the train back, then pick up the car and drive home. Then log on to sort out the emails. Then do the same thing the next day, and the day after that… I wasn’t unwell but I wasn’t well – too much to do and not enough time to do it. I was on a downward spiral.

I’ve always loved the mind/body and wanted to explore this further. I took the opportunity to retrain, and qualified as a solution focused clinical hypnotherapist. I’m very pleased that I did. I now have the skills to help many people in a huge number of situations. It’s fantastic!
